There are many storys and myths when it comes to the calendar of the old Maya civilization. Within an information graphic project I wanted to discover the system behind the calendar and compare it to our Gregorian one. The outcome is a minimalistic calender for the year 2018. It combines the Gregorian with two of the three Mayan calendar systems.
Within the so-called Tzolkin and Haab of the Maya the traditional signs show the special way of counting days and month. The golden colour highlights the spiritual 280 days long agricultural period of corn.
The project was developed during my time at Designschule München in 2016.
